Private Registration, ID protect
- What is ID Protect?
- ID Protect is a service that hides the WHOIS information of a domain’s registration from being displayed in the public WHOIS record, and also protects the WHOIS contacts from data mining and spam.
- Other similar services only falsify the WHOIS information with bogus information. This can lead to a domain's registration being suspended. This ID Protect service is fully ICANN compliant, and the data is kept secure and private in a 3rd party data vault.
- Many services simply stop all emails from reaching the domain contacts, which means important emails such as offers to purchase the domain do not reach the domain contacts. ID Protect differs from those services because it forwards legitimate mail, but stops spam.
- ID Protect can be used on any domain registration from one of the following TLDs: COM, NET, ORG, INFO, BIZ, PRO, TV, CC, ME, ASIA, CM.
- How does it work?
- ID Protect changes the public WHOIS information from your client’s contact information to an anonymous record. See the difference below:
- The ID Protect email address forwards to the client’s actual email address, but the ID Protect email address changes periodically so by the time spammers and marketers have it in their databases, it will no longer forward to the client’s email address.
